A relationship with devoted friendship at it’s core is a lifetime match
Meg and Dan have a special place in our hearts, as unbeknownst to us we were a part of their wedding way before we even knew who they were. You can call it fate, kismet, destiny or Urðr. We were going to be at their wedding no matter what. A lot of things changed but we have my money on Urðr being involved, the Norns are always involved.
We had an enquiry, from a lovely couple who reminded us of us. To quote:
“We just fit together, don't like being apart and could genuinely spend 24 hours a day together.”
Couldn’t sum up how I feel about Cavaye much better, especially as pretty much do spend 24 hours a day together haha. So we arranged a call and I had a good chat with Meg who revealed on the phone that they had decided to hire us months and months ago. They were told don’t hire the first people they find and make sure you shop around and they were like “Nah” The Crowthers it was for them. We have had 2 other enquiries like that since where people have said they decided to book us ages ago but we were booked on those wedding days.
But not for Meg & Dan, they wanted us and we were available, I’m telling you the Norns were involved. We properly met them in Kelham Island for their pre-wedding shoot, we met in The Depot for our shared love of coffee, filled up on caffeine and headed out to annoy the locals and hold up traffic whilst getting some ace shots. I think M & D would agree as on their wedding day during bridal prep we saw a few framed taking centre stage in their lounge! It is one of our favourite things about this job when we find people have our photos on their walls! Sounds daft as what else do you do with photos but we love it.
The day was a memorable one, partly due to the smoke bombs. We have advice for confetti, you cannot have enough, if you think you have enough double it! Well, Meg & Dan had the same attitude when it came to smoke bombs. They had one each and all their groomsmen, bridesmaids and the best person had one each. They all lined up, lighted up and then they were gone in a plume of smoke and we never heard from any of them ever again! It looked like a French riot or a scene from a war film, it was ace!
Another memorable part was the ceremony, Meg and Dan opted to have their vows in a church and were able to make it their own with a hand binding and have the Harry Potter and Star Wars themes on the organ! Loved it!
The last reason why it was memorable and again rang true through to mine and Alexandra's relationship is that they had a best person which is something we had at our wedding, ours was a cheeky little Australian we like to call Cluuuuuuur! They had the utterly charming Katie, who absolutely smashed her speech.
They are such an effortless couple, seemingly like they have already spent a lifetime together. Much love guys we hope you had an amazing day, you two both deserved it!
