An Intimate Romantic Spring Grangefields Wedding with a Ring Bearing Pup, Personal Vows and a Champagne Spray mixed with Sparklers
Amanda and Nick’s Highlight Film
The Couple’s Review
We hired Alexandra and Calum for our wedding photography and videography in April of this year. They were without a doubt one of the best decisions we made. They slotted into our day seamlessly, they never felt to be intrusive just always blending into the background as if they were part of our guests. We are absolutely thrilled with our images and video and will treasure them forever. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to book, not only are they extremely talented but are also the most genuinely lovely people too. Amanda & Nick xx
Getting Ready
Amanda got ready at her home in Buxton, which was decorated with Sass Weddings Florals. They had Grace Wheatley do makeup and hair and Amanda’s dress was by Alexandra Anne Bridal. The wonderful Georgina Rose Events was on hand to help everyone stay on time ready to head to Grangefields for their celebrant ceremony!
Wedding Ceremony
Amanda and Nick had planned a lovely ceremony with a Celebrant, personal vows to one another and featured their lovely little dog Minnie as their ring bearer. They told their love story amongst their closest family and friends. They had 2 readings - one was The Amber Spyglass by Phillip Pullman and the other was The One Thing I Know For Sure by Beau Taplin.
Wedding Tip: If you want your dog to be involved and you’re having a registrar - please check with them first. Not every registrar will allow it whereas celebrants will.
Confetti
They chose a different location than you might often see in Grangefields weddings, which was a really great choice. Especially because it was quite windy and the wind blew in the perfect direction for the confetti to float!
Details of the day
Sass Weddings supplied the florals and table decor whilst Gable and Grain did the stationary, order of service and seating plan. it was lots of neutrals with a pop of spring colours. Amanda and Nick even featured some photos of their dog Minnie as table numbers. The embroidered place cards were by Juniper and Me.
They also chose to have a number of other suppliers including Sophie England Live Illustrator, Confetti Content Creation and a Photo Booth.
Groups and Speeches
It was quite windy outside so we opted for group photos indoors in the ceremony space, which creates such beautiful light. It means that should the weather turn, you have options to do a bit of both indoors and outdoors when you can.
As we clearly state on our Welcome Page, we love a Bride who does a speech! Women’s voices at weddings really matter when there a lot of traditions focused on the men (no offence guys)! So it always feels quite refreshing to hear a Bride doing a speech or a Mum or a best friend. We think it’s lovely when both partner’s do a speech for each other just like Amanda and Nick did.
Couples Portraits
We chose all and every location for couples portraits, from sitting in their vintage car, to the courtyard, by the fields and in the ceremony space at night. As well as all the little in between moments that these two had with each other.
Minnie their dog also came along for a few photos too! What’s lovely is that Grangefields is a dog friendly venue and lots of our couples often want to bring their dog to their wedding.
Evening reception
With fancy cocktails in good quality glass (which really makes a difference) and cutting the cake in front of everyone enjoying dessert by candlelight; it was a little moment of romantic wonder. The evening led on with Amanda changing into her second dress, having their first dance and everyone joining in and many guests enjoying more cocktails with pizza.
All of the tables were lit up by beautiful candlelight alongside the flowers, which made for a wonderful atmosphere in the room.
They had decided on a Champagne Spray and Sparklers combined. We got absolutely covered in Champagne and Nick tried to escape getting sprayed! Would highly recommend doing a combined champagne spray and sparklers to anyone thinking about it. It was chaos but in the best way!
As the night drew to a close, everyone was still enjoying food and drinks with lots of conversation. Some people were dancing and some people outside. What’s great about Grangefields is there’s space for all types of guests! The ones who will dance, the ones who want to sit and chat and the one’s who like to huddle around the fire pit. It was honestly such a lovely romantic and stylish wedding that hopefully gives you lots of inspiration.
What the couple say - Design/vibe/vision for the day
“Our whole vision for our wedding day was intimate and full of love. It was full of spring colour and natural textures to compliment our venue choice. A huge part of our relationship and love story is our daughter Minnie. She has tested our relationship and yet brought us so much happiness too, she was always going to be the guest of honour and main character for our wedding. We wanted to fill our day with love and happiness, giving a relaxed, informal and thoughtful experience to our guests. We had lots of details, limoncello shots for our toast drink, sparklers and champagne spray and personal vows. It was just perfect and captured perfectly by Alexandra and Calum”
